Velvets Basic Fabrics
Velvet is a woven fabric. It is a soft, shiny and delicate fabric that in the past was only intended for valuable clothing. In the 17th century, only the rich people wore velvet. But nowadays every hobby tailor (star) can sew a velvet garment. Velvet can be used for evening wear, blazers, tops, pants, skirts, dresses but also for curtains. This depends on what kind of velvet fabric you grab.
There are different types of velvet fabrics such as; panne velvet (for tablecloths/curtains), Deco velvet (for curtains or cushioned fabric), stretch velvet & cotton velvet (for clothing). The fabric cannot be ironed, cannot be dried in the dryer, and must be washed at 30 ℃.
