What are knitted fabrics?

In knitted fabric, the fibers are knitted. This process is not done by hand, but with industrial knitting machines. The fibers used vary from real natural fibers (such as wool or cotton) to synthetic fibers, such as polyacrylic, or mixed fibers.

Knitted fabrics come in various thicknesses. The fine-knit fabric is thin and smooth, coarse knitted fabrics are thick and often used for winter clothing.

A characteristic of knitted fabric is that it usually feels soft and is comfortable to wear. The important properties of knitted fabrics are:

Maintenance advice
For optimal retention of quality, we recommend washing knitted fabrics at a maximum temperature of 30 degrees. Do not use a tumble dryer to dry knit fabrics. We recommend ironing knitted fabrics at a maximum ironing plate temperature of 130°C without steam, although for many knitted fabrics it is actually not necessary to iron them. Please note: steam ironing can cause irreversible damage.
